About

Mission Statement

We are dedicated to advancing the understanding of disease biology through rigorous, high-quality, and reproducible metabolomics research. We aim to discover novel biomarkers and metabolic pathways that inform precision medicine and improve patient outcomes. By upholding the highest data standards and fostering collaborative innovation, we strive to translate fundamental insights into meaningful impact in human health.

Our Lab

The Metabolomics Platform at the Broad Institute, based in Cambridge, Massachusetts, is a collaborative research group focused on developing and applying advanced technologies for the systematic analysis of metabolites in biological specimens.  Established in 2008 with only two instruments, the lab space now spans 2,000 sq ft at 300 Binney Street, Cambridge, MA supporting over 20 professional staff and 20 LC-MS instruments for metabolite profiling.

Due to the sensitive nature of LC-MS instrumentation, we unfortunatley do not offer walk-up services. However, we are highly collaborative and would be excited to work with you if you have an exciting project and we have available resources. Feel free to reach out to us on our Contact Us page. More informtion on our platform can be found on our Capabilities and Technology page.

Our work spans several key areas, including the characterization of metabolic phenotypes and dependencies, investigation of drug activity and efficacy, discovery of novel metabolites and biological mediators, exploration of host-microbe interactions, and identification of disease signatures and biomarkers. For more information on our research, check out our Research and Publications pages.
